CommSec: Mid-Session 3 Aug 15

THE Australian dollar has edged higher against the greenback, which fell on a disappointing US wage inflation report.

At 0630 AEST on Monday, the currency was trading at 73.11 US cents, up from 72.84 cents on Friday.

The US Employment Cost Index rose in the second quarter at the slowest pace since records began in 1982, slightly reducing the likelihood of a September interest rate hike by the Federal Reserve.
